I have been looking for any kind of community for people in my area (I am in Alabama), special interest groups (like 'nerds for fitness' or something) or for LBGT people. All I see are the big cities, and extremely broad topics like 'Eating Healthy,' 'Cardio,' and 'Weight Loss.' Short of sending out a mass of emails to my friends, hoping for a few hits, I am not sure how exactly to 'gather like-minded or local friends.'

2021.11.27 13:49 dilarez Big backpack to carry full workstation

Howdy Cowboys,
I travel 3 times per year from my home to my parents house in a small village. But I still gotta work. I am so used to dual monitors and the whole setup that working from my laptop slows me down by 100%.
I usually pack all things in different bags etc and travel but I always fear about the parts breaking because I might hit a pot hole or something else so I am looking for something more secure to pack my workstation in. Is there such a thing or do you have suggestions to achieve safety and compactness when traveling?

2021.11.27 13:49 MordhauModsRSoiKeks Naya Werewolves - Complete Deck Breakdown - 63% Winrate over 177games - #991 HR, 97% CR - BO1

I had a ton of fun playing this Naya Werewolf deck this season and I wanted to share it with the community. Gruul werewolves were fun in MID but the archetype was not strong enough to compete at Mythic. We got a ton of support in VOW, but I was still getting blown out by mono w. I decided to take one of their most OP cards, which also happens to be a werewolf, and I ended up finding the deck that I played the whole season. If you get a chance to play it, I hope you have a lot of fun, too.

Creature Spells (28)
4 Ascendant Packleader
2 Kessig Naturalist
4 Werewolf Pack Leader
4 Brutal Cathar
4 Reckless Stormseeker
3 Tovolar, Dire Overlord
3 Halana and Alena, Partners
4 Volatile Arsonist
Non-Creature Spells (10)
2 Shatterskull Smashing
1 Snakeskin Veil
2 Fateful Absence
2 Ranger Class
3 Arlinn, the Pack's Hope
Lands (22)(24 total)
1 Den of the Bugbear
1 Lair of the Hydra
4 Branchloft Pathway
4 Cragcrown Pathway
4 Needleverge Pathway
2 Overgrown Farmland
4 Rockfall Vale
1 Forest
1 Mountain

Over 177 games (~50 at diamond and ~127 at mythic), I had a 63% win rate. Like any aggro deck, you are favored on the play, with a 69% on the play win rate and a 57% on the draw.
I consider myself a pretty good player but not professional level. I hit mythic every season but it's a grind to stay in the numbers. I think a higher level player could squeeze out even better numbers with this deck.

Strategy and Card Review
This is an aggro deck with extremely efficient single target removal. The goal is to overwhelm your opponent with fast and well-statted creatures while constantly gaining tempo by using combat tricks and efficiently removing threats.
This is a high skill ceiling deck. You can't just play your biggest threat every turn, especially in a meta where every tier 1 deck is running efficient removal and bounce. You need to know when to put your foot on the gas and smorc and when to slow down and flip it to night time for some combat tricks. You need to squeeze every ounce of value out of your Cathars by flipping night multiple times and getting in with first strike.
Below I will go over each of the cards and some of the most popular matchups.

Creature Spells
4 Ascendant Packleader
A very strong 1 drop, but vulnerable in some match-ups. There are 12 spells in the deck that can give this +1/+1 (Shatterskull Smashing counts as long as you pay 2RR+). With 5 mana, you can haste this guy out with Halana for some serious damage. He's important for flipping night back to day for your Brutal Cathars.
He gets wrecked by Izzet and Mono black. If your opponent slams a mountain on 1 or plays a Shambling Ghast on the play, you might want to hold him back instead of slamming him on 1.
2 Kessig Naturalist
Kessig is a decent werewolf lord. He's a 2/2 body with mana generation who buffs all of your werewolves on the night side. Great card to flash in with Arlinn, or to play the turn after you have flipped it to night. We'll talk about this more when we get to Fateful Absence.
4 Werewolf Pack Leader
This card is broken. It's overwhelmingly the best green 2 drop, and it happens to be a werewolf. This card wins games by itself with it's strong stats and efficient card draw. It can go over the top with trample to proc Tovolar. Just an absolute monster.
4 Brutal Cathar
This may be one of the most broken creature cards in the format. 2W remove any creature and get a 2/2 body. Your opponent has to remove him to get their creature back. If you remove a token, it's just gone forever. But that's just the beginning.
His night side also wrecks. 3/3 First Strike. When you buff him with Halana and Elena, Ranger Class, Storm-Raged Slasher, Arlinn, etc., he is a nightmare to block. Then you can double spell and flip it back to day to eat another creature. This can be critical to your gameplan against creature decks where you either need to stabilize on board or remove big blockers to push in for the kill.
4 Reckless Stormseeker
Good on daytime, an absolute monster on night time. Flipping night and trampling over your opponents creatures is how you close out the game against decks with many small bodies. She pairs especially well with Halana and Elena. She can make H&E a 3/3 or 4/3 with first strike and haste, then H&E can give stormseeker +3/+3 or +4/4 on the same turn.
3 Tovolar, Dire Overlord
Tovolar is your card draw engine, tricksy closer, and efficient way to make it night time. You want to try to build up an early board, slam him on 3, and draw 1 or 2 cards. Getting efficient card draw with Tovolar and Werewolf Pack Leader gives you the gas to annihilate control decks. Every time they wipe your threats, you just come back bigger and faster.
On night time, Tovolar can give trample and additional power to wolves you control. Often times you will pay 0 multiple times to go over your opponents chump blockers and just win.
Caveat for Tovolar - Be super careful in Gruul mirrors. Your Tovolar flipping their wolves can seriously wreck you. However, if both you and your opponent play a Tovolar, you can pull some funny tricks with your Brutal Cathar by repeatedly flipping it to day and then immediately back to night.
3 Halana and Alena, Partners
This card is a bomb. I never expected that it would replace Esika's Chariot in this archetype, but for this deck I think it is better. There is no doubt that Esika's Chariot is more value. However, Halana and Elena is faster. It's like Stormseeker mixed with Luminarch Aspirant, and it buffs your Ascendant Packleaders. It pairs well with Arlinn, Ranger Class, and Stormseeker for quickly growing your board.
In this meta, reach and first strike are a big deal. You can chump their lethal Goldspan Dragon. You can stonewall their Elite Spellbinder or their flying tokens. You can kill deathtouch and trample creatures with first strike, especially if you manage to buff Halana and Elena.
4 Volatile Arsonist
Is this card really better than Goldspan Dragon? No. Except for against Mono Black, and that's why I run it instead. I am currently boasting a whopping 89% win rate against mono black over 18 games. That is the deck I have encountered the third most on the ladder behind mono white and izzet. This card wrecks their 1 and 2 body minions, it absolutely blows out their lolths. It takes out one of their chumps and then skates right past the other.
I think in a different style of deck Goldspan Dragon is better, such as a Gruul deck with more burn and wider removal. In this deck in this meta, I prefer Arsonist.

Non-Creature Spells
2 Shatterskull Smashing
Removal and it buffs your Ascendant Packleaders. Only 2 of because you don't want to draw this early game.
1 Snakeskin Veil
Amazing card to protect your board, especially against Izzet. I wish there was room in the deck to run more.
2 Fateful Absence
This is a super efficient instant removal. The instant speed is key, because you can pass and let the board flip to night, then remove one of their blockers before going in for the kill next turn. Key against mono green, mono white, and mono black. You can even leave open 2 mana when attacking your Izzet opponent with 7 open mana. They always go for the Hullbreaker block on 7 to stabilize, and you can blow out the game with a 2 mana removal spell.
2 Ranger Class
A very solid 2 drop that buffs your board and helps you dig. Since the deck runs 28 creatures, you can often get multiple hits in a row off of the level 3 ability. You can invest mana in this and let the board flip to night time.
3 Arlinn, the Pack's Hope
Like Halana and Elena, I think Esika's Chariot is more value than Arlinn, but Arlinn is faster. She helps you flip to night and obtain high value trades, she can flood with tokens, and she is a hasty, indestructible trampler in her own right.
You have to use her cautiously. You don't want to just slam her and minus 3 with an eyetwitch on board. Sometimes it's better to keep her alive instead of maximizing tempo.

Mana Base
Three colors is pretty easy to manage with all of pathways and dual lands. The creature lands are critical for pushing that last bit of damage after a sweeper. There are 2 basic lands in the deck so that you don't get bricked by Field of Ruin or similar effects.

Mono White
Mono white is your hardest matchup. On the play, you want to flood the board as fast and aggressively as possible. Werewolf Pack Leader has the strong body and card draw you need to outvalue them. Brutal Cathar and Fateful Absence help you stabilize. Halana and Elena outgrows them and blocks their fliers.
Personally, I had a 43% winrate against mono white over 46 games. I know that I lost multiple games due to misplaying, and I believe a better player could secure 50%.
So why do you want to play a deck that, at best, goes 50-50 against the most popular deck in the format? Because it crushes everything else.
Mono Black
This deck farms mono black, which for me was the third most popular deck on the ladder. I had an 89% win rate over 18 games. You outvalue them, you cheaply and efficiently remove their tokens while gaining bodies, your Volatile Arsonist rips their Lolth to shreds and then laughs. Even after they wipe the board, you come back strong with all of your hasty threats. Mono black just cannot complete with this deck. On the play, on the draw, the only way they are going to beat you is if you flood.
I had a 63% win rate over 24 games against Izzet. Almost every loss was a turn 4 Unexpected Windfall into Goldspan into solitaire. I had one game where I missed lethal due to miscalculating, and one where I didn't pump my Lair of the Hydra out of demon bolt range, so I think the actual win rate could be even higher.
You have so many threats that are so fast in this deck. If they draw the nuts and turn 5 or turn 6 wombo you, you lose, just like any other deck that doesn't run counterspells. Otherwise, you win.

Mono Green
Unfortunately I have a very small sample size against mono green. 60% win rate over 10 games. These matchups are all about Brutal Cathar and Fateful Absence. They will cheat out big threats early, but as long as you take value trades and save your removal for the right time, you can throw a wrench in their gameplan.
These guys play a lot of tokens. Wolves, Cats, Elementals, Troll tokens, etc. Brutal Cathar removes a token and gives you a 2/2 wolf body with no downside. If you flip him a couple of times, he does it again.

Meme Decks like Humans and Lifegain
Memers usually get blown out by this deck. Your value is too great and your removal is too efficient for them. They also don't run a lot of removal to get rid of your Brutal Cathars, so you can often get multiple flips.
Small sample size, but I have a 86% winrate against Selesnya over 7 games.

Thank you for taking the time to read this deck review. If you like to play Werewolves but want to try something different, I hope you give it a try. I have had a ton of fun playing this deck and I hope other people can have fun with it to.

2021.11.27 13:49 MTFBWY_ Is anyone else extremely limited by their lack of defense?

I’ve been playing For Honor on and off since release. I have 155 reps logged across all my heroes. Lately, I realized that I’m pretty dang good at offense. I’m skilled enough to beat most people offensively. However, my defense sucks so bad I don’t win most of my fights. So many times I get an opponent to low health, only to watch them counter and have all their attacks land. I still fall for the most basic tricks, and it’s unfortunate. Does anyone else experience this, too? At this point, I just play for fun and fashion, so I’m not worried about winning. But it would be nice to know that I’m not the only one!

Vase mode isn't what I want because it wouldn't loop back on itself. I've added a crappy drawing of a single layer to hopefully demonstrate better what I'm looking for.
